About
Head First is the 15th studio album by Uriah Heep, recorded and released in 1983. It followed the path of the band's previous album, Abominog, and focused on the combination of NWOBHM and AOR, spiced up with some catchy pop-rock melodie. If failed, however, to repeat the commercial success of its predecessor, largely due to the fact, that it lacked any promotion from the record company, Bronze Record, which went into liquidation only a month after the album's release. The labum reached # 46 in the UK but only #159 in the US. "Stay On Top" and 'Lonely Nights" were released as single. Contrary to Abominog, Head First contained a bigger number of the band's original composition, with only 3 covers (including both singles). Head first was remastered and re-released in 1997 with 3 bonus tracks and again in 2004, as a part of the expanded deluxe edition serie, with 5 bonus track. It was the second and last album recorded by this line-up of the band, which featured: Pete Goalby Mick Box John Sinclair Bob Daisley Lee Kerslake .
