About

Rod Stewart embraced the ’80s by shaking his hips, giving a sly wink, and unleashing his soulful rasp on gleaming pop-rock. “Another Heartache” throws metal guitar at parping keyboards and a thumping beat; “Love Touch” fizzes, sparkles, and demands a smoke machine. But Stewart never forgets his roots, and here he hits emotive peaks on the heartfelt lyrics and windswept feel of the title track, along with a lovely harmony-drenched take on The Beatles’ “In My Life.”
