Faithfull reunites with <i>Strange Weather</i> producer Hal Willner for another fine album of handsomely arranged covers. As on <i>Dreamin' My Dreams</i>, country songs like Dolly Parton's "Down from Dover" and Merle Haggard's "Sing Me Back Home" serve her elegantly ravaged pipes best. She rocks out with Cat Power on Neko Case's "Hold On, Hold On"; delivers lysergic folk bliss via Judy Sills' "The Phoenix"; and pushes the R&B envelope with Antony Hegarty on "Ooh Baby Baby."
