About

Eric Clapton may be “back home” on this 2005 LP, offering a familiar combination of rich blues rock and downtempo reggae, but the guitarist certainly doesn’t sound at rest. Even against the swaying rhythms of "Revolution," Clapton’s vocals are filled with tension, backed by a choir of gospel singers echoing his resentment and anger. "I'm Going Left," meanwhile, lets loose with a funky brass section, laying the groundwork for a climactic, liberating guitar solo.

Back Home is the 17th studio album by British rock guitarist Eric Clapton.
It was released in August 2005.
There are six new songs and six cover versions on the album.
The album was produced over five years. It was also the first studio album since the death of his friend George Harrison in November 2001.
As a tribute to him, Clapton recorded a cover version of Harrison's 1979 song Love Comes To Everyone.
After several blues-heavy productions, a wide range of styles comes into play on this album. This ranges from rhythm and blues in So Tired, rocking boogie in Lost And Found, reggae in Revolution, the soul title Piece Of My Heart to hints of folk music in the title song Back Home.
The dual-disc version includes an interview with Clapton, five video footage from the studio, and four guitar picks marked Back Home and signed by Clapton.
