About

"A Real Dead One" is a live album by English heavy metal band Iron Maiden, released on 18 October 1993. It was recorded at various concerts across Europe during the Fear of the Dark Tour in 1992 and the Real Live Tour in 1993. The album features songs spanning the band's early career from 1975 through to the "Powerslave" era (1984), while its counterpart "A Real Live One" contains tracks drawn from later albums released after "Powerslave". The album spent three weeks on the UK Albums Chart and was followed by "Live at Donington". In 1998, when Iron Maiden reissued their pre-"The X Factor" catalogue, "A Real Dead One" was combined with "A Real Live One" to form the two-disc release "A Real Live Dead One". The cover artwork was created by long-time Iron Maiden artist Derek Riggs and depicts the band's mascot Eddie as a disc jockey in Hell. The track "Hallowed Be Thy Name" was released as a single and reached number 9 on the UK Singles Chart.
