Jason Sean Steele (born 18 August 1990) is an English professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion. Steele progressed through Middlesbrough's youth system, signing his first professional contract with the Premier League club in 2009. He made his professional footballing debut while on loan at League Two side Northampton Town during the 2009–10 season. Steele made his Middlesbrough debut in the 2010–11 Championship season, eventually becoming first-choice goalkeeper. Steele represented England at all youth levels. He was called up for the Great Britain Olympic team at the London 2012 Summer Olympic Games, making a singular appearance against Brazil. Steele left Middlesbrough at the end of the 2013–14 season after losing his place in the starting lineup. At the start of the 2014–15 season, Steele joined Championship club Blackburn Rovers on loan. He signed for them permanently during the 2015 winter transfer window. He established himself as their first-choice goalkeeper in the 2016–17 season, Blackburn were relegated to League One, which culminated in Steele's departure to Championship side Sunderland. He left Sunderland after one season, joining Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League. Serving as back-up, he eventually made his Premier League debut in November 2021.
