Frank basically held the entire industry hostage by dropping this on Apple Music and skipping physical retail entirely. It’s a studio fuck-you to the traditional album cycle. The lack of drums on half the tracks? That was Om’Mas Keith and Malay stripping everything back until only the raw nerves were left. You’ve got *Channel Orange* on the same label, so you know the shift. This record is more claustrophobic. It demands you shut up and listen. No background noise allowed. The 2022 pressing is clean as hell, but don't expect it to sound like a brick-walled pop record. It’s moody, quiet, and hits you in the gut. Keep your stylus clean. You'll need it.
