About this album
People talk about the guest features like they’re the selling point, but the real magic is in the engineering. Mauricio “Veto” Iragorri spent months balancing those chaotic street skits against the polished Aftermath low end. It’s a tightrope walk. You’ve got this 2019 reissue on your platter, which is cleaner than the original pressing but lacks that gritty, tape-hiss warmth that defined the 2012 drop. Still, it’s a heavy-hitter for a reason. You’ve got a weird mix of Interscope records in that collection of yours—Smash Mouth next to Brand New is a hell of a palate cleanser. This fits right in the middle. It’s got the pop polish but keeps its teeth sharp. Listen to the bassline on the deep cuts when you're spinning this on that turntable of yours. You’ll hear exactly why this album survived the transition from digital to wax without losing its soul. It’s a rare one that holds up after the fiftieth spin.
