About this album
Motown’s legal department nearly had a heart attack when Stevie handed in the final bill. Over 130 musicians in the studio. Millions of dollars sunk into tape machines and studio time that would have bankrupted any other artist on the roster. Most guys spend a career trying to chase one perfect hook. Stevie just laid out his entire worldview on four sides of vinyl and an extra 7-inch because the standard format couldn't hold the weight. You’ve already got *Innervisions* spinning on your deck. You know the drill. This one is grander, weirder, and far more exhausting than anything else from the '76 Motown catalog. It’s not just a record. It’s a fucking inventory of a genius’s brain. Put it on when you have the time to sit and actually listen. Don't let it be background noise. That would be an insult to the work.
