Biography

German guitarist, keyboarder, sitar player, percussionist and composer from Hannover in the Krautrock era.
Krantz started to play guitar at the age of 19 in the Psychedelic Rock band. He joined its successor band Jane in 1972 and left the band together with Charly Maucher in 1974 to form Harlis. After the band retired in 1977, he became part of the line-up of short-lived ethno-flavoured Hard Rock band Efendi's Garden.
After 1980, Krantz was only weakly involved in band projects, mainly as fellow of Klaus Hess, but he joined Peter Panka's Jane after Panka's death in 2007 as their keyboarder.
Krantz is father-in-law of Thorsten Wingenfelder, guitarist of Fury In The Slaughterhouse.
