Biography

American heavy metal band formed in December 1972 by Jay Jay French in Ho Ho Kus.
The band was originally called Silver Star and included French, John Segall and Mel Anderson. In February 1973 Silver Star changed its name to Twisted Sister. In December 1974 this version of the band broke up. The second line-up included Rick Prince and Keith Angel. In 1975 Prince left and French took over the lead vocal. Just after Labor Day 1975 the fourth version of the band started with French, Eddie Ojeda, Kevin John Grace and Kenny Neill (Kenneth Harrison Neill).
In February 1976 Danny Snider (Dee Snider) joined, followed by Tony Petri in April that year. The band went though three more line up changes between 1979 and 1982. Drummer Joey Brighton replaced Tony Petri, Richie Teeter replaced Brighton and finally AJ Pero replaced Teeter. In 1985 Pero left and was replaced by Joey 'Seven' Franco. On October 12th, 1987 Snider left the band, the record label cancelled its contract, and Twisted Sister disbanded.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, the band played various of one-time shows before reuniting in 2003.
