Biography
Australian folk singer, guitarist, composer, producer and sound engineer. Born on 25 December 1943 in Melbourne. Died on 4 February 1989 in Sydney after a heart attack, aged 45. His first album was released in Australia in 1964, the year he married his first wife and moved to London, England. There he released another solo album and then formed Eclection (1967-1969). By 1969 Lucas was dating Sandy Denny and joined her in her Fotheringay project; the couple would marry in 1973. He was also working as an engineer at Island Studios and became more involved with producing, eventually joining Fairport Convention, which Denny would also rejoin. After a long tour in 1975, the couple left Fairport to find rest and start a family. In 1978, Lucas returned to Melbourne with their daughter Georgia. There he continued his producing career, and also married for the third time, to Elizabeth Hurtt-Lucas.
