Marka

Marka is the nickname, a Belgian singer, musician, film maker and author, born on 27 May 1961 near Brussels. Married, and father of Roméo Elvis & Angèle. He grew up in Molenbeek and started his musical career in 1978 in a punk band called The Profiles, singing and playing bass. In 1981 Marka joined Allez Allez, who released 2 albums of which 1 reached gold status in Belgium. He then formed in 1983, a garage-rock band, and in 1988 he formed Bla Bla Bla (opens in a new tab), a rock/rap combo. In 1992 he started making solo records. In 2007 there was the project. (He was given the nickname Markassou by an African friend and it was later shortened to Marka.)
