Biography

US American Guitarist and Vocalist
Born: February 6, 1954, Bronx, New York, USA
Died: November 29, 2023
Scott "Top Ten" Kempner was a remarkable musician hailing from the Bronx, NY. He made a significant mark in the music industry as a founding member of both The Dictators and The Del Lords. Kempner's career began with his influential role in The Dictators, a band considered pivotal in the proto-punk scene from 1973 to 1979.
In a notable shift in musical direction, Kempner founded The Del-Lords in 1982, steering towards a Roots Rock style. This band, after disbanding in 1990, made a comeback in 2008, marking another significant chapter in Kempner's career.
