Biography

Rosalind (born, Detroit, Michigan September 2, 1943 - September 15, 2026), began singing with the Del-Phis alongside Annette Beard, Gloria Jean Williamson, and Martha Reeves.
The Del-Phis recorded several early songs working alongside Funk Brother Joe Hunter and future Motown artist J.J. Barnes. After lead singer Martha Reeves stepped into a recording session originally scheduled for Mary Wells, the results were so impressive that the group joined Motown as the Vandellas! In 1969, Rosalind stepped away from the group.
Ashford sang on the group's legendary streak of 1960s hit singles, including:
"Heat Wave" (1963)
"Dancing in the Street" (1964)
"Nowhere to Run" (1965)
"Jimmy Mack" (1967)
In 1995, Rosalind was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame alongside lead singer Martha Reeves and fellow original member Annette Beard.
