Biography

Nicole Safft (often misspelled "Saft", which is German for "juice") was born on November 19th, 1975 in Lünen, West Germany. She met her producer and later husband, Alex Christensen, in Mallorca. The pseudonym "Rollergirl" was taken from Heather Graham's role as a naïve young porn starlet in the movie Boogie Nights (1997).
Safft first worked with Christensen when she contributed vocals to the E-Cyas song "Are U Real?" under the name Nicci Juice. Her debut single as Rollergirl, "Dear Jessie", a loose cover of the Madonna song, was released in 1999. Nicci didn't want to go on stage initially; this is why the first music video to "Dear Jessie" shows Julie Pecquet as Rollergirl. Rollergirl's debut album Now I'm Singin'... And the Party Keeps On Rollin' was released by the end of the year. "Luv U More", a cover of the Sunscreem song "Love U More", was another charting single from the album.
In 2000, "Dear Jessie" opened the Love Parade in Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK. Safft continued to release singles as Rollergirl and tease a potential follow-up album through to 2003, when she retired to focus on her newborn son, Tiger Christensen.
