Biography
Czech bass guitarist, vocalist and DJ.
Born July 4, 1945 in Prague, Czechoslovakia; died December 28, 2001 in Munich, Germany.
First he was member of some early Czech Beat bands as Komety and Fontana, then he became leader of The Matadors, which formed in 1965 in Prague. Around 1968, the band followed to Munich, Germany as backing band for his adaptation of the musical Hair (opens in a new tab). In 1970, the Matadors evolved to Kraut- and Jazz Rock band Emergency.
After the band split in 1974, Bezloja was involved in Munich-based Disco projects as D.D. Sound and Gold. He switched from playing bass to the newly created role as discjockey and was active in the 1970's and 1980's Munich club scene as “DJ Stevie”. He was resident DJ in Munich's famous club "Why Not".
