Biography
German producer, music publisher, artist, songwriter and rapper, born February 15, 1965 in West-Berlin, Federal Republic of Germany.
He works under various aliases and is best known as Real McCoy and O-Jay.
He learned photography and design in the early 1980's and worked in this job successfully. He was member of the early German breakdance scene under the moniker "The Mighty Crash".
Together with Frank Hassas aka Quickmix, he published one of the first Hip-Hop fanzines in Germany in 1986. Eventually, both also had a radio show and founded the label. They released their first record in 1987, but they received their first commercial notice in 1988, when they founded The Alliance.
The biggest commercial success was their cover version of "Pump up the jam" under the name M.C. Sar & Real McCoy in 1989, which he produced, arranged and fronted as rapper. In the 1990's, he worked on various Eurodance projects as Maxx and he also returned to his job as photographer.
