Biography

Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1986 with bass guitarist, guitarist Stuart Fraser (died 30 November 2019), drummer, keyboardist Justin Stanley and lead vocalist Jon Stevens. They had four Australian Top 10 albums, Noiseworks (Australia) (opens in a new tab) (No. 6, 1987), Touch (Australia 1988) (opens in a new tab) (No. 5, 1988), Love Versus Money (Australia 1991) (opens in a new tab) (No. 1, 1991) and Greatest Hits (Australia 1992) (opens in a new tab) (No. 4, 1992). They disbanded in 1992 but reformed for reunion tours in 1999, 2004, 2007–2008, 2011, 2013, 2016 and 2022.
In 1999, Fraser, Nicol and Stevens reformed Noiseworks (as Noiseworks II) with Chris Becker on bass guitar and on keyboards and toured Australia. Noiseworks reformed in September 2007, with on keyboards in place of Stanley, for a national tour. In May 2011, the original Noiseworks band members featured on the Red Hot Summer Tour of NSW.
In 2022, the band reformed with a new single released on 15 August called "Heart & Soul". The 2022 line-up includes original members lead vocalist Jon Stevens, bass guitarist, keyboardist Justin Stanley and drummer. The late great lead guitarist Stuart Fraser has been replaced by Jack Jones (aka Irwin Thomas), however Stuart Fraser will appear on upcoming releases that were recorded prior to his passing. Noiseworks plan to release their long overdue fourth album recorded a decade ago with the late Stuart Fraser. The unreleased song ‘Let It Go’ was in their setlist at Stone Fest in Sydney in April 2013. The track was also in the Red Hot Summer setlist of 2016, as were the new songs ‘Stand Up’, ‘Heart & Soul’ and ‘Low.
