Biography
Los Campesinos! (a Spanish name that roughly translates to "The Peasants"), formed in early 2006 at Cardiff University in Wales, are a seven-piece indie band with a cult following characterized by an array of instrumental sounds and lyricism. Their lineup, which has changed several times across the band’s lifetime, currently features Gareth Paisey (lead vocals, lyrics, glockenspiel), brother of Kim Paisey (keyboards, vocals), Neil Turner (guitar), Tom Bromley (guitar), Rob Taylor (guitar, various instruments), Matt Fidler (bass) and Jason Adelinia (drums) as of 2024.
Previous line-ups included Aleksandra "Aleks" Berditchevskaia (keyboards, vocals, melodica), Ollie Briggs (drums), Harriet Coleman (violin, string arrangements, keyboards, vocals), and Ellen Waddell (bass, vocals). Each member depicts their last name as "Campesinos!"
