Biography
UK progressive five-piece band from Newcastle with Tom Knowles on vocals, Dave Black on guitar, Fenwick Moir on bass, Dave Whitaker on drums and John Cook on keyboards. Started in the early 1970s as a symphonic rock group, then veered towards a melodic progressive sound in the vein of Camel, Caravan and Genesis. Their lone eponymous album was released in 1975. Cube Records didn't promote it and the album, thus the band, never became a success. Kestrel quietly slipped into oblivion.
