Biography
New jack swing/R&B female group Jade was originally formed by Joi Marshall, Angela Slates, and Debra Mitchell. Slates and Mitchell were replaced with Di Reed and Tonya Kelly before recording an album. The group released their album Jade to the Max in 1992, which spawned the top-charting singles "I Wanna Love You", "Don't Walk Away", and "One Woman". Their second album Mind, Body & Song, released in 1994, produced another top-charting single "Every Day of the Week".
The group disbanded in late 1995 but reformed as a duo in 1997 with Joi Marshall and Tonya Kelly, who released a single "Keep on Rising". In 2014, they resurfaced again, without Reed, and released another single "Baby Luv", which featured vocalist Myracle Holloway. Although the original members planned to reunite in 2019, those plans failed to materialize when Marshall and Kelly toured with Myracle Holloway as their new member and refused to include Reed.
