Henk Wanders

Former drummer of the Frank Boeijen Groep and the guitarist, singer, composer and sound engineer behind ONE-ders.
Henk Wanders (Nijmegen, 1958) is widely recognised as part of one of the most influential rhythm sections in Dutch pop history. As the drummer of the renowned Frank Boeijen Groep, he helped shape the band’s signature sound throughout the 1980s and became a driving force behind a series of enduring Dutch classics.
Wanders grew up in Nijmegen, where he soon connected with the local music scene. His first professional steps were taken with the jazz-rock band Elevator, a group noted for its technical skill and forward-thinking approach. This period formed the foundation of his precise timing, tasteful musicianship and dynamic playing style that later became his trademark.
After the Frank Boeijen Groep disbanded, Wanders stayed active across a broad range of projects. He performed with groups such as The Wanders Circus,, Lukić and, demonstrating his versatility across experimental theatre productions, world music and regional collaborations.
In the late 1990s he joined the ensemble R-chestra, known for its rich and diverse musical palette. Wanders also released his solo album Start in 1992, showcasing his own creative voice.
As the years progressed, Wanders expanded his role behind the scenes, developing a strong reputation as a composer, producer and mixer in the Nijmegen music community. Alongside this work, Wanders continues to pursue personal musical projects. His latest is the Christmas single, released under the artist name ONE-ders — a playful nod to his solo approach and his ongoing dedication to making music.
With a career spanning more than 45 years, Henk Wanders has secured a lasting place in Dutch music — both as a performer and as a creative force behind the console in his own.
