Biography
German bassist in the Krautrock era, born 20th October 1952; died 27th December 2005 in Berlin.
He was school friend of Manuel Göttsching, with who he started making music in 1967. Both founded the band "The Bomb Proofs" on Enke's 15th birthday. Along with Volker Ziball and Wolfgang Müller they appeared on German TV as in 1970. After this short lived band had broken up, Enke and Göttsching met Klaus Schulze in Thomas Kessler's studio and formed Ash Ra Tempel. Enke remained a core member of Ash Ra Tempel until 1973 when he left the group and gave up his musical career.
