Biography
Japanese indie pop / guitar pop group that had a substantial influence on Japan's Shibuya-kei and indie pop scenes.
Flipper's Guitar started out as Pee Wee 60's, but after the rest of the members left Keigo Oyamada (vocals, guitar) and Yukiko Inoue (keyboards) changed the name to "Lollipop Sonic" and they were later joined by Shusaku Yoshida (bass), Yasunobu Arakawa (drums) and Kenji Ozawa (guitar and vocals). They changed their name to Flipper's Guitar when they made their major debut and recorded their first album, Three Cheers For Our Side as a five piece. However three of the members left afterwards and Keigo Oyamada and Kenji Ozawa worked as a duo until the group's initial breakup in 1991. After the breakup, both embarked in highly successful solo careers, Ozawa under his own name, and Oyamada using his Cornelius alias.
