Biography

Swedish punk band formed in Rågsved, outside Stockholm, in 1977. The band initially called themselves The Haters, but changed their name to Ebba Grön a few days later.
Ebba Grön during its few active years was undeniably the most popular punk band in Sweden during the punk movement. They played all across the country and even a few times in Norway, bringing in massive crowds and as a follow up they have left a legacy that is still being followed on by punk rockers and pop listeners to this day.
The core lineup consisted of Joakim Thåström (lead vocals, guitar), Gunnar Ljungstedt (drums), and Lennart Eriksson (bass, backing vocals), also known by their nicknames Pimme, Gurra, and Fjodor.
Following the release of their second album in 1981, they were joined by a fourth member, Anders Sjöholm – also known as Stry Terrarie – on keyboards. The group disbanded in 1983 when Lennart left the band because of getting tired from the bands popularity. Lennart works as a school cook nowadays while Joakim and Gunnar are still playing music.
