Biography
All-female disco group from The Netherlands, formed in 1980, after record producer Piet Souer watched UK singer lip sync to Lipps, Inc.'s Funkytown on Dutch TV. She took on the artist name Doris D, while her backing group The Pins were made up out of dancers Ingrid de Goede, Irene van der Hoeven, and Yvonne van Splunteren (who was replaced by Denise van der Hek). The Pins left Doris D in 1982 to form the girl group Risqué. Four British singers were hired to be the new Pins, until the group broke up in 1985.
