Biography
Self-taught musician, composer and painter born in Baltimore 1949, raised in New York, studied English at Harward in 1971.
He formed the Street Theatre Troupe in Cambridge in 1968, Wind And Wood in Cambridge in 1970, New Theatre in Cambridge in 1971, performed solo music in Cambridge and Berkeley in the early to mid 1970s, worked with Glenn Branca, Rhys Chatham, Robin Crutchfield and Morton Subotnick.
He formed Chinese Puzzle with David Hofstra and John Mernit in 1978. He became as a member of Glenn Branca's group before branching out on his own as a composer of avant-garde rock ensemble music. In 1980 he formed Experimental Chorus, followed by Experimental Chorus And Orchestra in 1981 and Electric Chorus & Orchestra in 1982.
