Dave Rumsey

American guitarist Dave Rumsey started playing guitar at 8 years old after watching his uncle play Led Zeppelin songs on his acoustic. He became obsessed with guitar and spent his youth playing in bands and developing his playing style and songwriting during the age of hair metal and virtuoso guitarists. As a teenager he moved from the cornfields of Illinois to the melting pot of cultures in New Orleans to pursue music with his older brother Daniel. There he bonded with some fellow musicians and formed the band Earthsuit, recording several albums (one signed with EMI/Sparrow) and toured the US, Europe and Australia. After that bns, he joined artist Jason Morant, recording two albums and touring the US for three years. He also worked as a house engineer at a local recording studio, recording and producing several artists while also contributing as a session guitarist. He eventually moved to Australia where he currently builds and repairs guitars.
