Biography
Lichelle Marie Laws (12 September 1969 – 11 March 2024), better known by her stage name Boss (stylized as Bo$$), was an American rapper from Detroit.
Initially a duo consisting of Bo$$ (Lichelle Laws) and DJ Dee (Irene “Dee” Moore), the project later turned into a solo act after DJ Dee left. The group name stood for "Bitches On Some Shit" and was the first act to sign with Def Jam West.
Her debut album, Born Gangstaz, reached number three on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart in 1993. Demo tapes for her sophomore album were rejected be Def Jam and the label dropped her soon after.. She went on to be a radio DJ in Texas.
