Biography

Polynesian/Hawaiian percussionist and the voice behind the exotic, jungle sounds of Martin Denny's 1956 hit song, "Quiet Village". He was a popular session musician and bandleader in Hawaii. His bird calls were featured as well in the music.
Called the "Grandfather of Percussion".
Born August 27, 1927 in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA.
Died June 11, 2004 in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA (aged 76) (complications related to diabetes).
