Biography

American singer-songwriter. Born on January 23rd, 1948, in East Oakland, California. Died in Beverley Hills, California (USA) on December 31st, 2022. She was a founding member of the vocal group the Pointer Sisters when she joined the duo of Bonnie and June. She retired from the group in 2015. Anita released her lone solo album Love For What It Is in 1987, which garnered a minor club hit with More Than A Memory. But her biggest success outside the Pointer Sisters was her 1986 duet with Earl Thomas Conley titled Too Many Times, which went to #2 on Billboard's Country charts, certified gold. It was nominated for the CMA 1987 Vocal Duo Of The Year but lost to Ricky Skaggs & Sharon White.
