Biography

Soul pop singer - teen idol
Born on 05 March 1958 in Manchester England
Died on 10 March 1988 of heart ailment.
He was youngest brother of the family whose other members formed the Bee Gees: Barry Gibb, Robin Gibb, and Maurice Gibb. Six months after his birth, his family moved to Redcliffe, north of Brisbane, Australia.
In June 1974, Andy Gibb formed his first group in the Isle of Man, Melody Fayre (named after a Bee Gees song). At the urging of his brother, Barry, the band decamped to Australia in 1974. Barry believed that since Australia had been a good training ground for the Bee Gees, it would also help Gibb's career.
In 1976 Gibb launch a succesful solo career, recording three solo albums between 1977 - 1980.Including a duet with Olivia Newton-John for the single "I Can't Help It" (1980)
He received Grammy nominations in the categories of Best New Artist of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Performance for "I Just Want To Be Your Everything." His last single was the cover of "All I Have To Do Is Dream" with his, then girlfriend, actress Victoria Principal.
