Biography
American economist who served as the 13th chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System from 1987 to 2006. In the 1930s, he learned to play the saxophone from Bill Sheiner and Stan Getz. In the 1940s, he played jazz clarinet and saxophone (among others in Henry Jerome's band).
