Biography
Dutch disco and fusion group from Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, founded in 1980 by and Rob Taekema. Record labels gained interest in the group due to Jan-Paul's brother, Ellert Driessen from Spargo. Although their first single 'My Feet Won't Move' reached #8 in the Dutch Top 40, the rest of their singles were less successful. Mildred Douglas left in 1981, becoming a member of Mai Tai. In the mid-1980s, Fruitcake released three albums exclusively in Japan, where their music was used in commercials and various productions. Fruitcake's last single together was with Larry Jackson (The Jack) in 1989. The final release under the Fruitcake name was in 1992.
