About
On "Quarantine," Ceremony frontman Ross Farrar screams, "Call the police! Turn me in!" He certainly sounds like someone too feral to be allowed on the streets. Ceremony are both precise and chaotic on their Matador debut, conveying the sense that sharpened-to-the-hilt hardcore ragers like "Adult" and "World Blue" could fall apart at any moment. As a respite, their idea of taking a breather is summoning post-punk dread on creeping tracks like "Repeating the Circle."
