About
Raunchy, revivalist garage rock with an irresistible dose of Southern-fried soul. That’s what the Followill family—comprised of sibling preacher’s sons Caleb, Nathan and Jared plus their cousin Matthew—conjure on a debut that beat plenty of the era’s skinny-tied big city boys at their own game. Whether they’re hurtling through sweaty-browed indie floor-fillers (“Wasted Time”, “Molly’s Chambers”), slow-burn blues (“Trani”, “Dusty”), or freewheeling Americana (“California Waiting”), these Tennessee tyros mint a sonic formula that’s as vital as it is outrageously infectious.
