Sound DNA
- Electronic
The versions produced by Mark "Hot Rod" Trollan were the first to appear on wax in 1986, but the much-loved version produced by Frankie Knuckles (and possibly an unreleased dub vocal mix by Knuckles' collaborator Louie Gomez) was DJed from reel-to-reel tape and appeared in various forms on mixtapes dated 1984 (opens in a new tab) and 1985 (opens in a new tab). The Knuckles-produced version did not appear on vinyl until 1987.
