About

X-Men '97 (Original Soundtrack) is the soundtrack album to the first season of Marvel Animation's ''X-Men '97'', composed by The Newton Brothers and released digitally on '''24 May 2024''' through Marvel Music and Hollywood Records. Featuring 40 tracks, the album combines newly composed orchestral material with a modern reimagining of the iconic theme from the 1992 ''X-Men: The Animated Series'', preserving its recognizable melody while expanding it with choir, synthesizers and cinematic orchestration. The score employs recurring musical motifs for major characters and storylines, with instrumentation tailored to reflect their personalities and abilities, while drawing subtle inspiration from 1990s musical styles to reinforce the series' setting and legacy. Released shortly after the season finale, the soundtrack was praised for balancing nostalgia with a contemporary sound and became a key part of the series' critical acclaim. Although the album includes many of the season's most notable musical cues, several pieces heard in the series were omitted from the official release, leading to fan requests for an expanded edition.
