About
For the last two-plus decades, British doom lords Electric Wizard have delighted their red-eyed minions with bleary, drug-induced tales from the Sabbathian crypt. The band’s ninth album is as maniacally stoned and retro-mantic as ever, reveling in hairy '70s biker rock and fiendish Hammer Horror-isms. From the droning, slo-mo power dirge of “See You in Hell” and contagious narco-riffs of “Necromania” to the organ-drenched fugue “The Reaper” and lumbering closer “Mourning of the Magicians,” the Wizard have erected another satisfying monument to the macabre.
