This album consists of mostly previously issued material, with three songs, Waylon's "My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys", Jessi's "I'm Looking For Blue Eyes" (recorded for RCA several years earlier but not released), and Tompall's "T For Texas", making their debut here.
Six of the eight previously issued songs were heavily remixed with new vocal and instrumental parts for this album. The exceptions are Waylon and Willie's "Heaven And Hell" and Tompall's "Put Another Log On The Fire",
There are three versions of this album:
1) The original 1976 album, with 11 songs;
2) The 1988 CD reissue of only 8 tracks, without Waylon's "Honky Tonk Heroes", Waylon and Jessi's "Suspicious Minds", and Tompall's "Put Another Log On The Fire";
3) The 1996 20th Anniversary reissue, containing the original 11-song album plus ten additional songs.
