"TRIBUNAL RECORDS has developed itself into a steady provider of quality metal and hardcore, and it all started with such prominent North Carolina acts as Prayer For Cleansing, Bloodjinn and Azazel. TRIBUNAL RECORDS is now branching out and bringing yet another prominent North Carolina outfit to the rest of the world. SWIFT hail from the “Camel City” (Winston-Salem) and surprisingly enough, DO NOT play metallic hardcore. SWIFT formed in 1998, and quickly established itself in the southeastern heavy music scene. With influences from Foo Fighters and Radiohead to Testament, Pantera and Metallica they wanted to mesh the excitement and power of aggressive music and the beauty of melody and song structure. They also focused on their stage show, attempting to captivate from a visual standpoint as well. In 1999 they released their debut EP "Thoughts Are Thought,” which has sold a stunning 2400 copies without the benefits of ANY distribution. This impressive amount of sales naturally garnered the attention of the major label. Labels including the likes of MCA, Atlantic and Dreamworks all expressed an interest in signing SWIFT, but not wanting to sacrifice their creative control left SWIFT unable to sign away everything they had worked so hard to achieve. They decided to forge on, independently, determined to succeed and to achieve that success on their own term. So after touring and promoting throughout 2000 and 2001, SWIFT decided it was time to work on a new record. The band funded and recorded that new record independently, and then a copy landed in the hands of TRIBUNAL RECORDS. .
