About
As there is no ironic wink to Celine Dion’s voice, you know that when she wishes you a merry Christmas, she really means it. Every festive lyric—whether “O Holy Night” or “Christmas Eve”—is given fresh significance in her unique voice, and guests Andrea Bocelli and R. Kelly have to provide similarly passionate performances to compete. Even relatively lighthearted old favorites, like “Blue Christmas” and “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire),” are delivered with fresh intensity and wonder, as befits a season of reflection and rebirth.
