About
The Voice of America is Cabaret Voltaire’s second full-length studio album, released in 1980 on Rough Trade. Marking a pivotal moment in their early catalog, the record blends industrial noise, tape manipulation, and stark political commentary, capturing the raw, confrontational energy of their live performances at the time. It’s one of the band’s most abrasive and experimental releases, pushing further into dissonance and anti-pop structures while cementing their role as pioneers of the UK’s post-punk and industrial underground.
