The Singles (The First Ten Years)

Double compilation album, released 8 November 1982 in Sweden, 12 November in UK, and on December in North America on LP and cassette, with the first CD issues following the next year. The Singles was the main international ABBA compilation for a decade, until Gold (Greatest Hits) in 1992.
The set contains all of ABBA's international singles in chronological order. Two tracks were new at the time of release: The Day Before You Came (opens in a new tab) and Under Attack (opens in a new tab). The compilation was subtitled The First Ten Years, but the new tracks turned out to be the last ABBA recordings for 39 years. ABBA never disbanded officially, yet the group effectively dissolved within months after the release of this compilation, to pursue solo projects, but with the idea to regroup after a few years.
A vastly expanded edition with different artwork was released in October 2024 as The Singles (The First Fifty Years), featuring material from 1972 up until ABBA's final album Voyage from 2022.
