About

The second offering from the dynamic duo of CeeLo Green and Danger Mouse is more streamlined than their debut, with a tighter focus on existential, bass-boosted ‘70s-soul grooves. “Hurt people, hurt people,” Green croons ominously on “Would Be Killer,” over a beat that evokes a blaxploitation soundtrack played at half speed. Meanwhile, his vocals are more tender than ever on “Who’s Gonna Save My Soul,” a cry for help over melancholy spaghetti-western blues.
