This underground band’s feel-good party rock might be the most fun you’ll have this year. “Kafe Mania” explodes with in-your-face sonics while embracing hair metal’s lusty, unselfconscious glory. “Plastic Thrill” is another mutant glitter rock smash—like something from Iggy’s <i>Raw Power</i> rolled up in cotton candy. It’s no surprise that Deerhoof’s party album is also their most danceable. “Debut” is a brilliant amalgam of burping funk, garage rock drums, and giddy noise. If you like your cacophony served with a dose of cheerful delirium and childlike wonder, it doesn’t get better than “Little Hollywood.”
