About
On The Long Fall Back to Earth, Jars of Clay set aside their love of earthy acoustics and serve up a collection of buoyant anthems shaped by ’80s pop rock. The New Wave-flavored “Heaven” is a feast of wiry riffs and chilly synth melodies, while “The Long Fall” is a rippling instrumental that climbs slowly and brilliantly like a mountain sunrise. Even when self-doubt creeps into Dan Haseltine’s voice—hear the power-pop gem “Forgive Me”—the band’s spunky harmonies remain rooted in emotional resilience.
