About
If Christmas were a country, "The Christmas Song" would be its national anthem—and Nat "King" Cole's is the enduring version. When his croon lays out the song's vivid yuletide imagery, the hardest heart will feel a sentimental twinge. But most of the album finds Cole's classy pipes delivering traditional carols and seasonal hymns like "O Come All Ye Faithful" and "Away in a Manger," with elegant orchestrations and choral backing adorning the arrangements like brightly colored baubles enhancing the glow of a Christmas tree.
