About

The South African rap iconoclasts are more zef than ever on Ten$ion, making widely appealing art out of lowbrow culture. Bookended by rap-rock/dubstep stomper "Never Le Nkemise 1" and trance/dubstep hair-raiser "Never Le Nkemise 2," the album veers everywhere from nursery-rhyme raps to '90s dance to West Coast gangster boogie. Highlights include Yolandi Visser's baby-voiced toasting atop 2 Unlimited-style rave on "I Fink U Freeky," and the irresistibly naughty party-rap riff "U Make a Ninja Wanna F**k.
